Notes

Substitutes:

  • Lillet Blanc: Blanco or Bianco vermouth work well as an alternative to Lillet Blanc. You can also use white aperitivo such as Cocchi Americano Bianco: this kind of white wine-based aperitif works very well in this cocktail.
  • Ginger Beer: If you’re out of ginger beer or simply not a fan of its spicy flavor, you can use ginger ale as a substitute.
  • Prosecco: No Prosecco? No problem! You can use any sparkling wine you have on hand. I've even used champagne in a pinch.

Making it Non-Alcoholic:

  • Lillet Blanc Substitute: Opt for a non-alcoholic vermouth or aperitivo as a substitute (Martini Floreale for instance). These are usually widely available in liquor stores; just make sure to choose one that’s not overly bitter. You can also use unsweetened white grape juice as a substitute for Lillet Blanc; it won't have the same complexity but will provide a similar base flavor.
  • Prosecco Substitute: Use a non-alcoholic sparkling as an alternative to prosecco.
  • Proceed As Usual: Use these non-alcoholic substitutes instead of the regular ingredients, follow the original steps, and enjoy a non-alcoholic version.

Making it Vegan:

This Ginger Spritz recipe is vegan-friendly as it contains no animal products. Just check the labels of your ingredients to ensure they're vegan, as some brands of Prosecco and other wines may use animal products in their production process.

What is a Ginger Spritz?

A Ginger Spritz is a sparkling cocktail made of fresh ginger, Lillet Blanc, ginger beer and prosecco. This refreshing drink is relatively easy to make as it only requires mixing the ingredients properly. The Ginger Spritz stands out for its spicy kick from the ginger beer, which pairs well with the sweetness and botanical notes from the Lillet.
