Notes

Substitutes:

  • Bourbon: If you don't have bourbon, try using rye whiskey for a spicier kick. I've also used dark rum for a sweeter twist.
  • Tequila: Substitute with mezcal if you want a smoky flavor profile. It adds an interesting depth to the drink.
  • Amaretto: Use hazelnut liqueur as an alternative for a nutty variation that complements the other flavors well.
  • Lime Juice: Lemon juice works in a pinch, although it will slightly alter the citrus notes.

Making it Non-Alcoholic:

  • Bourbon Substitute: Use non-alcoholic whiskey alternatives available in stores; they mimic the flavor without alcohol.
  • Tequila Substitute: Opt for a non-alcoholic tequila substitute or use agave syrup for sweetness and depth.
  • Proceed As Usual: Follow the original steps using these substitutes to enjoy a non-alcoholic version.

Making it Vegan:

  • Egg White Substitute: Use aquafaba (the liquid from canned chickpeas) instead of egg white for frothiness without animal products.
  • Proceed As Usual: Replace egg white with aquafaba in the original recipe steps to create a vegan-friendly cocktail.
