Notes

Substitutes:

  • Dark Rum: If you don't have dark rum, use light rum for a milder flavor. I've also used spiced rum for an extra kick.
  • Gin: Vodka can replace Gin if you prefer a less botanical taste. It keeps the drink smooth and refreshing.
  • Lime Juice: Fresh lemon juice works well if you're out of limes, though it will slightly alter the citrus profile.
  • Guava Syrup: In a pinch, use passion fruit syrup for a similar tropical twist or simple syrup with a splash of guava nectar.

Making it Non-Alcoholic:

  • Dark Rum Substitute: Use a non-alcoholic rum alternative; these are available and mimic the rich flavor of rum quite well.
  • Gin Substitute: Opt for a non-alcoholic gin substitute to maintain the botanical notes without alcohol.
  • Proceed As Usual: Replace the alcoholic ingredients with their non-alcoholic counterparts and follow the original steps for a refreshing mocktail.
