This easy Tequila Slammer recipe is perfect for your next party! This Tequila shot topped with any fizzy drink of your choice is super easy to make and it’s a festive and versatile option.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Tequila
  • 1 oz Fizzy drink of your choice, Ginger Ale / Soda Water / Tonic Water / Sprite / Champagne…
  • Lemon or Lime Wedge, for garnish, optional

Equipment

  • Shot Glass
  • Measuring Jigger

Instructions

  • Fill your shot glass halfway with approx. 1 oz Tequilaadjusting to the size of your glass.
  • Top up with approx. 1 oz Fizzy drink of your choice.
  • Serve with a lemon or lime wedge on the side.
  • Before drinking, hold and cover the top of the glass with the palm of your hand to seal the content inside. Then, pick up the glass and slam it before immediately drinking it in one go while the drink is still fizzing.

Notes

Substitutes:

  • Tequila: You can use vodka or white rum if you don't have Tequila. Both will give a different flavor profile but still work well in this
  • Soda Water: Club soda or any clear carbonated beverage can be used as a substitute for soda water. Just be aware that flavored sodas will alter the taste of the cocktail.

Making it Vegan:

  • Tequila: Most tequilas are already vegan, but it's always good to check the brand, as some may use animal products in their processing methods.
  • Soda Water: Soda water is naturally vegan.
