Notes
Substitutes:
- Gin: If you don't have Gin, you can use vodka for a cleaner taste. I've also tried tequila for a more robust flavor profile.
- Honey Syrup: You can try with agave or maple syrup. Both work well and add their unique sweetness.
- Lemon Juice: Bottled lemon juice can work in a pinch, but fresh lemon juice always tastes better.
- Cayenne Pepper: If you're out of cayenne pepper, try using a dash of hot sauce or ground black pepper for a different kick.
Making a Pitcher of Bee Sting Drink:
- Scale: To make a pitcher that serves 8, multiply all the ingredients by 8. That would be 16 oz of Gin, 8 oz of honey syrup, and 6 oz of fresh lemon juice.
- Mix: In a large pitcher, combine the Gin, honey syrup, lemon juice, and cayenne pepper with ice. Stir well.
- Serve: Strain the mixture into individual chilled cocktail glasses, garnish with a lemon slice or twist, and serve immediately.
Making it Non-Alcoholic:
- Gin Substitute: Use a non-alcoholic gin substitute; these are available and reasonably mimic Gin's botanicals.
- Proceed As Usual: Use this non-alcoholic substitute instead of Gin, follow the original steps, and enjoy a non-alcoholic version.
Making it Vegan:
- Honey Syrup Substitute: Use agave or maple syrup instead of honey syrup to make this drink vegan-friendly.
- Proceed As Usual: Follow the original steps using your chosen vegan sweetener and enjoy your vegan Bee Sting Drink.
