Notes

Substitutes:

  • Aguardiente: If you don't have Aguardiente, I've used rum as a substitute. It gives a different but equally enjoyable flavor.
  • Fruit Juices: Feel free to use any combination of fruit juices you like. I sometimes use mango or guava juice for a tropical twist.
  • Grenadine: You can make your grenadine by mixing pomegranate juice with sugar if you don't have store-bought grenadine.

Making a Pitcher of Aguardiente Punch:

  • Scale: To make a pitcher that serves 8, multiply all the ingredients by 4. That would be 16 oz of Aguardiente, 24 oz of assorted fruit juices, and 4 oz of grenadine.
  • Mix: In a large pitcher, combine the Aguardiente, fruit juices, and grenadine. Stir well.
  • Serve: Pour the mixture into ice-filled glasses, garnish with fresh fruit slices, and serve immediately.

Making it Non-Alcoholic:

  • Aguardiente Substitute: Use a non-alcoholic spirit that mimics the flavor profile of Aguardiente. These are available in specialty stores.
  • Proceed As Usual: Use this non-alcoholic substitute instead of Aguardiente, follow the original steps, and enjoy a non-alcoholic version.

Making it Vegan:

  • Ensure All Ingredients Are Vegan: Most fruit juices and grenadine are vegan-friendly, but always check labels to be sure.
