Prep Glass: Fill your highball glass with ice cubes.
Add Lemon Juice: Measure and pour 1 oz lemon Juice into the glass.
Add Grenadine: Add 1 oz grenadine to the mix.
Add Vodka: Pour 2 oz Vodka over the ice.
Top up with Soda Water: Fill the rest of the glass with soda water.
Stir: Use a bar spoon to stir the ingredients.
Garnish: Place a lemon slice or twist into the glass for garnish.
Substitutes:
- Vodka: If you're out of vodka, try white rum for a slightly different flavor profile. I've also used gin instead of vodka for a more botanical taste.
- Lemon Juice: I've used lime juice instead of lemon juice in a pinch. It changes the character of the drink but still works well.
- Grenadine: A simple syrup can substitute if you don't have Grenadine. Add a small pomegranate juice splash to mimic Grenadine's unique flavor.
Making a Pitcher of Bingo Drink:
- Scale: To make a pitcher that serves 8, multiply all the ingredients by 8. That would be 16 oz of vodka, 8 oz of lemon juice, and 8 oz of Grenadine.
- Mix: In a large pitcher, combine the vodka, lemon juice, and Grenadine. Stir well.
- Serve: Pour the mixture into ice-filled highball glasses, top up with soda water, garnish with a lemon slice or twist, and serve immediately.
Making it Non-Alcoholic:
- Vodka Substitute: Use a non-alcoholic vodka substitute; these are available and reasonably mimic vodka's flavor.
- Proceed As Usual: Use this non-alcoholic substitute instead of the regular vodka, follow the original steps, and enjoy a non-alcoholic version.
Making it Vegan:
- All Ingredients: The Bingo Drink is naturally vegan as it contains no animal products. Just make sure to use a vegan-friendly vodka brand, as some brands use animal products in their filtration process.
