Substitutes:
- Calvados: If you don't have Calvados on hand, you can use another type of brandy as a substitute. It gives a similar fruity flavor profile.
- Dubonnet: Try using sweet vermouth instead if you're out of Dubonnet. It's an approximate match, but it will give your cocktail a similar depth of flavor.
Making a Pitcher of Bentley Drink:
- Scale: To make a pitcher that serves 8, multiply all the ingredients by 8. That would be 12 oz of Calvados and 12 oz of Dubonnet.
- Mix: In a large pitcher, combine the Calvados and Dubonnet with ice. Stir well.
- Serve: Strain the mixture into individual chilled cocktail glasses, garnish with a lemon peel twist, and serve immediately.
Making it Non-Alcoholic:
- Calvados Substitute: Use a non-alcoholic apple cider as a substitute; it mimics the fruity notes of Calvados.
- Dubonnet Substitute: Opt for a non-alcoholic red grape or cranberry juice to replace Dubonnet.
- Proceed As Usual: Use these non-alcoholic substitutes instead of the regular ingredients, follow the original steps, and enjoy a non-alcoholic version.
Making it Vegan:
Good news! The Bentley Drink is naturally vegan. Just make sure to use vegan-friendly brands of Apple Brandy.
