  • Add Rum: Pour 1 oz light rum into the blender.
  • Blend: Blend all the ingredients until smooth.

Notes

Substitutes:

  • Banana: If you don't have a fresh banana, you can use banana puree or even a scoop of banana ice cream for a richer flavor.
  • Light Rum: You can substitute white tequila or even vodka if you prefer. Both will give a different flavor but still work well with the banana.
  • Banana Liqueur: If you can't find banana liqueur, try using another fruit like peach or apricot. It'll change the flavor profile but still make a tasty cocktail.
  • Cream: If you're out of cream, you can use milk as a substitute. It will be less wealthy but still give you that creamy texture.

Making a Pitcher of Banana Banshee:

  • Scale: To make a pitcher that serves 8, multiply all the ingredients by 8. That would be 8 bananas, 8 oz of light rum, 8 oz of banana liqueur, and 16 oz of cream.
  • Blend: In a large blender, combine the bananas, light rum, banana liqueur, and cream. Blend until smooth.
  • Serve: Pour the mixture into individual cocktail glasses, sprinkle with nutmeg, and serve immediately.

Making it Non-Alcoholic:

  • Rum Substitute: Use a non-alcoholic rum substitute; these are available and do a good job mimicking rum's flavor.
  • Banana Liqueur Substitute: Opt for a non-alcoholic fruit syrup or make a simple syrup infused with banana flavor.
  • Proceed As Usual: Use these non-alcoholic substitutes instead of the regular ingredients, follow the original steps, and enjoy a non-alcoholic version.

Making it Vegan:

  • Cream Substitute: Use a vegan substitute like coconut or almond milk. These will give you that creamy texture without any dairy.
