Notes

Substitutes:

  • Apple Brandy: If you don't have apple brandy, you can use another type of brandy. This will slightly change the flavor but it would still make a delicious drink.
  • Lemon Juice: Freshly squeezed orange juice or grapefruit juice can be used instead of lemon juice for a different citrus twist.
  • Ginger Syrup: If you're out of ginger syrup, make your own by simmering equal parts sugar and water with fresh ginger. Alternatively, simple syrup with a few dashes of ginger bitters can work in a pinch.

Making a Pitcher of Apple Ginger Fizz:

  • Scale: To make a pitcher that serves 8, multiply all the ingredients by 8. That would be 16 oz of apple brandy, 8 oz of lemon juice, and 4 oz of ginger syrup.
  • Mix: In a large pitcher, combine the apple brandy, lemon juice, and ginger syrup. Stir well.
  • Serve: Pour the mixture into individual ice-filled highball glasses, top with soda water, garnish with an apple slice and mint sprig, and serve immediately.

Making it Non-Alcoholic:

  • Apple Brandy Substitute: Use a non-alcoholic apple cider or apple juice as a substitute for the apple brandy.
  • Proceed As Usual: Use these non-alcoholic substitutes instead of the regular ingredients, follow the original steps, and enjoy a non-alcoholic version.

Making it Vegan:

This cocktail is already vegan-friendly as it does not contain any animal products. However, always check your ingredients' labels to ensure they are suitable for vegans. Some brands of soda water may contain additives or processing agents derived from animal sources.
