Ingredients

  • 1 oz Canadian Club Whisky

  • 1 oz Lillet Blanc
  • 2 dashes of Angostura aromatic bitters
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon twist, for garnish, optional

Equipment

  • Coupe Glass
  • Measuring Jigger
  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Strainer & Fine-strainer

Instructions

  • Prep Glass: Fill your Coupe glass with ice cubes to chill.
  • Add Bitters: Add 2 dashes of Angostura aromatic bitters to the shaker.
  • Add Lillet Blanc: Add 1 oz Lillet Blanc to the mix.
  • Add Brandy: Measure and pour 1 oz Apricot Brandy into the shaker.
  • Add Whisky: Pour 1 oz Canadian Club Whisky.
  • Shake: Ice up the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.
  • Strain: Fine strain your drink into your chilled coupe glass.
  • Garnish: Use a lemon twist as garnish.

Notes

Substitutes:

  • Canadian Club Whisky: If you don't have Canadian Club whisky, you can use any other blended whisky or bourbon for a slightly sweeter profile. I've also tried rye whisky, which adds more spice to the drink.
  • Apricot Brandy: If you're out of apricot brandy, peach schnapps can work as a substitute. It's sweeter but still has that fruity essence.
  • Lillet Blanc: Dry vermouth can be used in place of Lillet Blanc. It changes the flavor slightly but still works well in the cocktail.
  • Angostura Bitters: If you don't have Angostura Bitters, try using orange bitters for a different but pleasant twist.

Making a Pitcher of Nymph Cocktail:

  • Scale: To make a pitcher that serves 8, multiply all the ingredients by 8. That would be 8 oz of Canadian Club whisky, 8 oz of apricot brandy, and 8 oz of Lillet Blanc, along with 16 dashes of Angostura Bitters.
  • Mix: In a large pitcher, combine the whisky, apricot brandy, Lillet Blanc, and Angostura Bitters with ice. Stir well.
  • Serve: Strain the mixture into individual chilled coupe glasses. garnish with a lemon twist, and serve immediately.

Making it Non-Alcoholic:

  • Whisky Substitute: Use a non-alcoholic whisky substitute; these are available and reasonably mimic whisky's flavor profile.
  • Apricot Brandy Substitute: Opt for an apricot juice concentrate or syrup to replace the apricot brandy.
  • Lillet Blanc Substitute: To mimic Lillet Blanc's flavor, use white grape juice with a splash of lemon juice.
  • Proceed As Usual: Use these non-alcoholic substitutes instead of the regular ingredients, follow the original steps, and enjoy a non-alcoholic version.
