Anteckning

Substitutes:

  • Bourbon: Try rye whiskey for a spicier kick or Scotch for a smoky note.
  • Brandy de Jerez: I've used Apple Jack instead of brandy; it adds a similar depth to the drink.
  • Ginger Liqueur: If ginger liqueur is unavailable, use ginger syrup for a similar flavor profile.
  • Honey Syrup: For a vegan option, replace honey syrup with agave nectar or simple syrup.

Making a Pitcher of Fallen Leaf:

  • Scale: To make a pitcher that serves 8, multiply all the ingredients by 8, except for the hot water, which you can adjust as needed.
  • Mix: In a large heatproof pitcher, combine the bourbon, brandy, ginger liqueur, allspice dram, lemon juice, and honey syrup.
  • Serve: Pour the mixture into mugs and fill them with cinnamon-lemon-infused hot water, garnish with lemon wheels and grated Nutmeg.

Making it Non-Alcoholic:

  • Spirit Substitute: Use non-alcoholic whiskey and brandy alternatives available in stores.
  • Ginger Liqueur Substitute: Use ginger syrup for that spicy kick.
  • Proceed As Usual: Follow the original steps using these substitutes for a non-alcoholic version.

Making it Vegan:

  • Honey Syrup Substitute: Replace honey syrup with agave nectar or maple syrup to keep it vegan-friendly without losing sweetness.
