Notes

Substitutes:

  • Tequila: If you don't have Tequila, try using vodka for a different base flavor. I've also used rum for a sweeter profile.
  • Cointreau: Any orange liqueur will work as an alternative if you're out of Cointreau, the flavor will slightly change.
  • Lemon Juice: Lime juice can substitute lemon juice for a tangier taste. I sometimes use it when I want a sharper citrus note.
  • Egg White: For those avoiding eggs, aquafaba (the liquid from canned chickpeas) is an excellent substitute that still gives that frothy texture.

Making it Non-Alcoholic:

  • Tequila Substitute: Use a non-alcoholic spirit that mimics Tequila's flavor profile; these are available and work well in cocktails.
  • Cointreau Substitute: Opt for an orange-flavored syrup or non-alcoholic orange liqueur alternative.
  • Proceed As Usual: Follow the original steps using these non-alcoholic substitutes to enjoy a refreshing mocktail version.

Making it Vegan:

  • Egg White Substitute: Replace egg white with aquafaba to maintain the frothy texture without using animal products.
  • Proceed As Usual: Use aquafaba instead of egg white to create a vegan-friendly cocktail in the original recipe steps.
