Fill with Prosecco: Pour approximately 3 oz Prosecco over the ice.
Top with soda water: Add 1 oz soda water to the mix.
Stir: Stir gently to combine the ingredients.
Garnish: Place an orange slice into the glass for garnish and serve immediately.
Substitutes:
- Prosecco: Any dry sparkling wine will do the trick if you don't have Prosecco. I've used Cava and Champagne before, and both work well.
- Select Aperitivo: Campari is a good alternative if you can't find Select Aperitivo. It's a bit bitter but still brings that citrusy sweetness. If you want something less bitter, try using Gran Classico.
Making it Non-Alcoholic:
- Prosecco Substitute: Use a non-alcoholic sparkling wine or soda water for the fizz.
- Select Aperitivo Substitute: Opt for a non-alcoholic aperitif or make a simple syrup infused with orange peel and a touch of bitterness from some gentian roots or a dash of grapefruit juice.
- Proceed As Usual: Use these non-alcoholic substitutes instead of the regular ingredients, follow the original steps, and enjoy a non-alcoholic version.
Making it Vegan:
- Check Your Wine: Not all wines are vegan, as some use animal products in the fining process. Make sure to use a vegan Prosecco or sparkling wine.
- Select Aperitivo: Select Aperitivo is already vegan-friendly, so no need to worry about that!
- Proceed As Usual: After ensuring your ingredients are vegan, follow the original steps to enjoy your vegan Venetian Spritz.
