Stirrer or Bar Spoon
Prep Glass: Fill your Highball glass with ice cubes.
Add Tequila: Pour 2 oz Tequila over the ice.
Add Grapefruit Soda: Measure and pour 4 oz grapefruit soda into the glass.
Stir Gently: Use a bar spoon to stir the ingredients gently.
Garnish: Squeeze and drop a lime wedge into the glass for garnish.
Substitutes:
- Tequila: If you don't have Tequila, you can use vodka for a different but still enjoyable flavor. I've also tried using mezcal for a smokier twist.
- Grapefruit Soda: Mix fresh grapefruit juice with club soda if you can't find grapefruit soda. It's a bit more tart but works well. You can also use lemon-lime soda for a sweeter alternative.
Making it Non-Alcoholic:
- Tequila Substitute: Use a non-alcoholic tequila substitute; these are available and reasonably mimic Tequila's flavor profile.
- Proceed As Usual: Use this non-alcoholic substitute instead of regular Tequila, follow the original steps, and enjoy a non-alcoholic version.
