Substitutes:
- Rums: If Jamaican Rum is not available experiment with dark and aged rum from different countries.
- Blackberry Liqueur: I sometimes use crème de cassis or another berry liqueur in its place.
- Allspice Dram Liqueur: You can quickly create something similar by infusing crushed allspice berries with rum for about 10 days, filter with a coffee filter and add sugar to balance it out.
Making a Pitcher of Tea & Krampus:
- Scale: Multiply all ingredients by the number of servings you need; for example, for eight servings, use 12 oz of Aged Jamaican Rum, 6 oz of Jamaican Dark Rum, and adjust other ingredients accordingly.
- Mix: Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher and stir well.
- Serve: Pour into individual rocks glasses over ice and garnish with Nutmeg.
Making it Non-Alcoholic
- Rum Substitute: Use non-alcoholic rum alternatives or mix equal parts apple juice and molasses for depth.
- Blackberry Liqueur Substitute: Replace with blackberry syrup or juice.
- Allspice Dram Substitute: Infuse allspice berries in water with a touch of sugar to mimic the flavor.
Making it Vegan:
The original recipe is vegan-friendly, but ensure that any substitutes used are vegan-certified if needed.
