Notes

Substitutes:

  • White Rum: You can use dark rum for a richer flavor if you don't have white rum. I've also tried using coconut rum for an extra coconut kick.
  • Coconut Cream: In case you run out of coconut cream, you can use coconut milk, but it will be less creamy. Adding a bit of sweetened condensed milk can help achieve the desired texture.
  • Lime Juice: Lemon juice works as an alternative if you're out of limes. It gives a slightly different tang but still tastes great.
  • Pineapple Juice: Fresh pineapple juice tastes best, but canned works too. If you want a twist, try adding a splash of orange juice for an additional citrusy note.

Making it Non-Alcoholic:

  • Rum Substitute: Use a non-alcoholic rum substitute; these are available and mimic the flavor profile quite well.
  • Proceed As Usual: Use the non-alcoholic substitute instead of white rum, follow the original steps, and enjoy a non-alcoholic version.

Making it Vegan:

  • Coconut Cream Substitute: Ensure your coconut cream is vegan-friendly; some brands add dairy products. Alternatively, use full-fat coconut milk.
  • Proceed As Usual: Follow the original steps using vegan-friendly ingredients to enjoy a vegan Piña Colada.
