Substitutes:
- Mezcal: If you don't have Mezcal, you can use tequila as a substitute. It won't have the same smoky flavor but will still make a tasty drink. You could also use a smoky scotch for a different twist.
- Tonic Water: If you're not a fan of tonic water's bitter taste, you can substitute it with soda water or ginger ale. Just be aware that this will change the flavor profile of the drink.
Making it Non-Alcoholic:
- Mezcal Substitute: Use a non-alcoholic spirit that has a smoky flavor. Several brands on the market make non-alcoholic spirits with complex flavors.
- Proceed As Usual: Use these non-alcoholic substitutes instead of the regular ingredients, follow the original steps, and enjoy a non-alcoholic version.
Making it Vegan:
- Check Your Ingredients: Most Mezcal and tonic waters are already vegan, but it's always a good idea to check the labels to ensure no animal products are used in their production.
- Proceed As Usual: Once you've confirmed your vegan ingredients, follow the original steps to make Mezcal and Tonic vegan.
