Notes

Substitutes:

  • Bourbon: If you don't have Bourbon, you can use any other whiskey as an alternative. I've also tried rum for a different but enjoyable flavor profile.
  • Chambord: If Chambord is unavailable, try using raspberry liqueur or a splash of raspberry syrup for a similar taste.
  • Cranberry Juice: Pomegranate juice works well if you're out of cranberry juice. It adds a slightly different but still delicious flavor.
  • Lemon Juice: Lime juice can be used instead of lemon juice for a tangier twist.
  • Sugar Syrup: Honey syrup or agave nectar can replace sugar syrup if you prefer natural sweeteners.

Making a Pitcher of Marquee Cocktail:

  • Scale: To make a pitcher that serves 8, multiply all the ingredients by 8. That would be 8 oz of Bourbon, 4 oz of Chambord, 8 oz of cranberry juice, 4 oz of lemon juice, and 4 oz of sugar syrup.
  • Mix: In a large pitcher, combine the Bourbon, Chambord, cranberry juice, lemon juice, and sugar syrup with ice. Stir well.
  • Serve: Strain the mixture into chilled coupe glasses, garnish with a lemon twist or fresh cranberries, and serve immediately.

Making it Non-Alcoholic:

  • Bourbon Substitute: Use a non-alcoholic whiskey substitute; these are available and do a good job mimicking Bourbon's flavor.
  • Chambord Substitute: Opt for raspberry syrup.
  • Proceed As Usual: Use these non-alcoholic substitutes instead of the regular ingredients, follow the original steps, and enjoy a non-alcoholic version.

Making it Vegan:

  • Sugar Syrup: Ensure your sugar syrup is vegan-friendly some sugar involves the use of bone char during production.
  • Proceed As Usual: Choose another raspberry liqueur and follow the original steps using vegan-friendly ingredients to enjoy a vegan Marquee Cocktail.
