Stirrer or Bar Spoon
Prep Glass: Fill your highball glass with ice cubes.
Add Soju: Pour 2 oz Soju over the ice.
Add Lychee Juice: Measure and pour 3 oz lychee juice into the glass.
Add Soda Water: Add 1 oz soda water to the mix.
Stir Gently: Use a bar spoon to stir the ingredients gently.
Garnish: Place a lychee fruit into the glass for garnish.
Substitutes:
- Soju: If you don't have Soju, you can use vodka for a similar kick. I've also tried sake, which gives it a different but pleasant twist.
- Lychee Juice: If lychee juice is hard to find, you can blend canned lychees with some of their syrup to make your juice. Alternatively, white grape juice works in a pinch.
- Soda Water: You can use tonic water if you prefer a bit more bitterness or even sparkling water for a lighter touch.
Making it Non-Alcoholic:
- Soju Substitute: Use a non-alcoholic spirit substitute; these are available and reasonably mimic Soju's profile.
- Proceed As Usual: Use these non-alcoholic substitutes instead of the regular ingredients, follow the original steps, and enjoy a non-alcoholic version.
Making it Vegan:
- Ensure Ingredients Are Vegan: Most soju brands are vegan-friendly, but always check the label to be sure. The same goes for lychee juice and soda water.
