Substitutes:
- Cachaça: If you don't have Cachaça, I've used white rum as a substitute. It gives a slightly different flavor but still works well in this recipe.
- Condensed Milk: I sometimes use evaporated Milk with some sugar added for a lighter version. It's not as sweet but still creamy.
- Milk: Use coconut or soy milk for a different twist.
- Cocoa Powder: Chocolate syrup can be a quick fix if you're out of cocoa powder. Just adjust the sweetness accordingly.
Making it Non-Alcoholic:
- Cachaça Substitute: Use a non-alcoholic spirit that mimics the flavor profile of Cachaça. These are available and do a good job of replicating the taste.
- Proceed As Usual: Use this non-alcoholic substitute instead of Cachaça, follow the original steps, and enjoy a non-alcoholic version.
Making it Vegan:
- Condensed Milk Substitute: Use sweetened condensed coconut milk or another plant-based condensed milk alternative. I've found these work just as well and keep the drink creamy.
