Notes

Substitutes:

  • Vodka: When I don't have vodka, I often use gin; it adds a botanical twist to the drink. For a sweeter profile, white rum can also be a good substitute.
  • Raspberry Liqueur: I've substituted Chambord with homemade raspberry syrup or grenadine in a pinch; it alters the taste but keeps the fruity essence.
  • Lemonade: When fresh lemonade is unavailable, I opt for a quality store-bought version or mix equal parts of lemon juice and simple syrup.

Making a Pitcher of Honey Deuce:

  • Scale: For a pitcher serving 8, use 12 oz of vodka, 24 oz of lemonade, and 4 oz of raspberry liqueur.
  • Mix: Combine vodka and lemonade in a large pitcher. Stir well and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  • Serve: Add raspberry liqueur and garnish with fresh raspberries and lemon slices in ice-filled highball glasses before serving.

Making it Non-Alcoholic:

  • Vodka Substitute: Use a non-alcoholic vodka or a splash of club soda for a fizzy twist.
  • Proceed As Usual: Replace the regular vodka with the non-alcoholic substitute and follow the original steps.

Making it Vegan:

  • Check Ingredients: Ensure that the lemonade and raspberry liqueur used are vegan-friendly. Some may contain honey or other animal byproducts.
  • Serve As Usual: Once you confirm the vegan status of your ingredients, follow the original steps and enjoy a vegan version.
