Notes

Substitutes:

  • Gin: Sometimes, I swap gin with vodka for a milder taste. Another exciting alternative I've tried is using botanical, non-alcoholic spirits.
  • Lavender Simple Syrup: If you can't find lavender, rosemary makes a nice herbal substitute for the syrup. To make it, follow the same steps you'd use for lavender syrup, but replace lavender with rosemary.

Making a Pitcher of Lavender Martini:

  • Scale: For a pitcher serving 8, use 16 oz of gin, 4 oz of lavender simple syrup, and 4 oz of lemon juice.
  • Mix: In a large pitcher, combine the gin, lavender simple syrup, and lemon juice. Stir thoroughly and put the pitcher in the refrigerator.
  • Serve: Pour the mixture into chilled martini glasses, garnish with lavender, and serve.

Making it Non-Alcoholic:

  • Gin Substitute: Opt for a non-alcoholic gin or a botanical spirit. They provide a herbaceous kick without the alcohol.
  • Proceed: Use the non-alcoholic substitute instead of gin and follow the original steps. You'll have a refreshing, non-alcoholic version.

Making it Vegan:

The original recipe is inherently vegan. If you ever buy pre-made lavender simple syrup, always check the label to ensure no animal-derived products or additives are present.
