Notes

Substitutes:

  • Cranberry Juice: Pomegranate juice can be a great alternative if you don't have cranberry juice. It has a similar tartness and vibrant color.
  • Apple Cider: No apple cider? No problem! You can use apple juice instead. It's sweeter than cider so that it will change the flavor profile slightly, but it's still delicious.
  • Champagne/Sparkling Wine: If you're out of bubbly, use club soda for a non-alcoholic version or sparkling white grape juice for a sweeter touch.

Making a Pitcher:

  • Scale: To make a pitcher that serves 8, multiply all the ingredients by 8. That would be 16 oz of cranberry juice, 16 oz of apple cider, and 32 oz of champagne or sparkling wine.
  • Mix: Combine the cranberry juice and apple cider in a large pitcher. Stir well.
  • Serve: Pour the mixture into individual champagne flutes, top with champagne or sparkling wine, garnish with an apple slice, and serve immediately.

Making it Non-Alcoholic:

  • Champagne Substitute: Use a non-alcoholic sparkling wine or club soda instead of regular champagne. These options will give you the bubbles without the alcohol.
  • Proceed As Usual: Use this non-alcoholic substitute instead of the regular champagne, follow the original steps, and enjoy a non-alcoholic version.

Making it Vegan:

  • Champagne/Sparkling Wine: Not all wines are vegan, as some use animal products in the fining process. Look for a bottle that specifies it's vegan-friendly. Alternatively, club soda is a safe bet for a vegan option.
  • Proceed As Usual: Use this vegan-friendly substitute instead of the regular champagne, follow the original steps, and enjoy a vegan version.
