  • Stirrer or Bar Spoon

  • Garnish: Place a lime wheel on top or into the glass for garnish.

Notes

Substitutes:

  • Cachaça: If you can't find cachaça, white rum is a good substitute as it has a similar flavor profile. I've also used vodka when I'm out of cachaça and rum, but it changes the taste quite a bit.
  • Lime Juice: Freshly squeezed lemon juice can be used instead of lime juice. It gives a slightly different, but still delicious, citrusy tang.
  • Ginger Beer: If you're not fond of ginger beer's spiciness, use ginger ale instead. It's sweeter and less spicy but still adds that ginger kick.

Making it Non-Alcoholic:

  • Cachaça Substitute: Use a non-alcoholic spirit substitute; these are available and reasonably mimic rum's flavors.
  • Proceed As Usual: Use this non-alcoholic substitute instead of the regular cachaça, follow the original steps, and enjoy a non-alcoholic version.

Making it Vegan:

Good news! The Brazilian Buck is already vegan-friendly as it contains no animal products. Just always check the brands you use because some producers may use animal-derived ingredients during production.
