Add Basil Syrup: Pour 1 oz Basil-Infused Simple Syrup or Liqueur over the ice.
Add Prosecco: Measure and pour 3 oz Prosecco into the glass.

Substitutes:
- Basil-Infused Simple Syrup or Liqueur: If you don't have basil-infused syrup, you can make your own by simmering equal parts sugar and water with fresh basil leaves until the sugar dissolves, then strain out the leaves. Alternatively, add a few drops of basil extract to a plain, simple syrup.
- Prosecco: You can substitute any sparkling wine if you don't have Prosecco on hand. Cava or Champagne works well too.
- Soda Water: Club soda or sparkling mineral water can replace soda water without changing the drink's character.
Making a Pitcher of Basil Spritz:
- Scale: To make a pitcher that serves 8, multiply all the ingredients by 8. That would be 8 oz of basil-infused simple syrup, 24 oz of Prosecco, and 8 oz of soda water.
- Mix: In a large pitcher, combine the basil-infused simple syrup, Prosecco, and soda water. Stir well.
- Serve: Pour the mixture into individual ice-filled glasses, garnish with fresh basil leaves, and serve immediately.
Making it Non-Alcoholic:
- Prosecco Substitute: Use non-alcoholic sparkling wine or sparkling grape juice to replace Prosecco.
- Proceed As Usual: Use these non-alcoholic substitutes instead of the regular ingredients, follow the original steps, and enjoy a non-alcoholic version.
Making it Vegan:
- Simple Syrup: Make sure your sugar is vegan-friendly; some sugars are processed using bone char.
