Ingredients

  • 2 oz apple-flavored Whiskey
  • 6 oz soda water or ginger ale - to top up
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh apple slice - for garnish, optional

Equipment

  • Highball Glass
  • Measuring Jigger
  • Stirrer or Bar Spoon

Instructions

  • Prep Glass: Fill your Highball glass with ice cubes.
  • Add Whiskey: Pour 2 oz apple-flavored Whiskey over the ice.
  • Add Mixer: Add more ice cubes if necessary (the more ice, the better) and top off the glass with approx. 6 oz soda water or ginger ale (adjust to taste and to the size of the glass).
  • Stir Gently: Use a bar spoon to stir the ingredients gently.
  • Garnish: Place an apple slice into the glass for garnish and serve immediately.

Notes

Substitutes:

  • Apple-flavored Whiskey: The most common brands for apple-flavored whiskey are Jack Daniel’s Apple and Jim Beam Apple. If you can’t find any apple-flavored whiskey, use regular whiskey and add a splash of apple juice for flavor.
  • Soda Water or Ginger Ale: You can use tonic water if you prefer a slightly bitter edge. For a sweeter option, try lemon-lime soda.
