Ingredients

  • oz Vanilla Vodka
  • ¾ oz Limoncello
  • ¾ oz fresh lemon juice
  • ½ oz Butterscotch Schnapps
  • 1 bar spoon vanilla syrup
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon zest, for garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Cocktail Strainer
  • Fine strainer
  • Measuring Jigger
  • Coupe or Martini Glass

Instructions

  • Prep Glass: Fill a Martini or Coupe glass with ice. Give it a quick stir and set it aside.
  • Add Vanilla Syrup: Pour 1 bar spoon vanilla syrup into the shaker.
  • Add Lemon Juice: Add ¾ oz fresh lemon juice.
  • Add Butterscotch Schnapps: Add ½ oz Butterscotch Schnapps.
  • Add Limoncello: Measure and pour ¾ oz Limoncello into the shaker as well.
  • Add Vanilla Vodka: Finally, add 1¾ oz Vanilla Vodka to the mix.
  • Shake Well: Fill the shaker with ice, close it and give it a good shake (10-15 seconds).
  • Strain: Take the Coupe or Martini glass and discard the ice inside. Then, using both the cocktail strainer and the fine strainer, strain the shaken drink into the chilled glass.
  • Garnish: Garnish with a lemon zest twist: to do so, express the lemon zest on top of the glass (you can either discard it after or place it on the rim of the glass for an added citrus touch). Serve immediately.

Notes

Substitutes:

  • Vanilla Vodka: If you don't have vanilla-flavored vodka, you can use regular vodka as a substitute.
  • Limoncello: In place of limoncello, try using triple sec or another citrus liqueur for a similar zesty kick.
  • Butterscotch Schnapps: Caramel or toffee liqueur works well without butterscotch schnapps; it adds a rich, sweet note.
  • Vanilla Syrup: You can make your vanilla syrup by mixing equal parts sugar and water and adding vanilla extract.
  • Fresh Lemon Juice: Bottled lemon juice can work in a pinch, but fresh is always best for that vibrant citrus flavor. Another option is to use fresh lime juice for a slightly different citrus kick.

Making a Pitcher of Bon Bon Drink:

  • Scale: To make a pitcher that serves 8, multiply all the ingredients by 8. That would be 14 oz of vodka, 6 oz of limoncello, 6 oz of fresh lemon juice, 4 oz of butterscotch schnapps, and 1,5 oz of vanilla syrup.
  • Mix: Combine all the ingredients in a large pitcher. Add a generous amount of ice cubes and stir well.
  • Serve

Making it Vegan:

The Bon Bon Drink is vegan-friendly if you ensure that your vanilla syrup is certified vegan (some syrups are made using sugar that has been processed over bone-char and is not vegan-friendly). If in doubt, always check labels or the brand’s website to confirm they meet vegan standards.
