Merknader

Substitutes:

  • Absinthe: If you don't have Absinthe, I recommend using Pernod or another anise-flavored liqueur for a similar taste.
  • Brancamenta: You can substitute with Fernet-Branca if Brancamenta is unavailable; it will add a more intense herbal note.
  • Coffee Liqueur: If unavailable opt for a touch of amaretto liqueur for a different sweet note.
  • Espresso Coffee: Strong brewed coffee can replace espresso in a pinch; ensure it's concentrated enough.

Making a Pitcher:

  • Scale: To make a pitcher that serves 8, multiply all the ingredients by 8. That would be 8 oz of Absinthe, 8 oz of Brancamenta, and so on.
  • Mix: Combine all the ingredients with ice in a large pitcher. Stir well.
  • Serve: Strain the mixture into individual chilled coupe glasses, garnish with coffee beans or mint leaves, and serve immediately.

Making it Non-Alcoholic:

  • Absinthe Substitute: Use an anise-flavored syrup or extract diluted with water to mimic the flavor without alcohol.
  • Brancamenta Substitute: Opt for a mint syrup to capture the minty essence without alcohol.
  • Proceed As Usual: Replace alcoholic components with these non-alcoholic alternatives, omit the coffee liqueur and follow the original steps.
